Mayoral Candidate Josh Pollock Calls For Local Protest Against President
Bush's Attack on Reproductive Freedom
Pittsburgh- Last Saturday 18 year old mayoral candidate Josh Pollock
joined the protest of the inauguration of George W. Bush in downtown Pittsburgh.
This Saturday (January 27th) he hopes to bring everyone back and grow the crowd
in protest of Bush and his recent announcement of new policy that will not allow
humanitarian aid missions that provide health services and receive federal
funding to even discuss abortion with patients.
"These new rules may only apply to humanitarian
missions, which is bad, but we must fear it is just the beginning." Pollock
said. "I'm not going to sit here and watch it happen, we need to send
a message to Bush Jr. that this is not acceptable and send a message to people
in other cities to do the same. Roe v. Wade did not come out of a vacuum,
it came from a movement and that movement needs to reassert itself big time or
we can watch Bush erode abortion rights and then other rights."
The protest will come one week after the last one ended and
will be at the same place. That is the Federal Building downtown at
12:30PM, Saturday, January 27th. |
