Josh Pollock is devoted to the city of Pittsburgh. At an age where he has the rest of his life in front of him, he has decided to try to devote 4 years of his life to Pittsburgh. Josh Pollock truly loves his city and its people, but one of its people does not love him. A man by the name of Bernie Scott has filed a petition to have Josh Pollock removed from the ballot based on his age.
Mr. Scott’s petition is based on a state law that requires the age of the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh to be a minimum of 25. Pollock believes that The Pittsburgh Home Rule Charter sets the qualifications for mayor, not the older state law. The Pittsburgh Home Rule Charter has no qualification based on age. Pollock’s campaign will present this argument in court before Judge James McLean.
