Blacks-In-Government Training Conference in Pittsburgh
The Greater Pittsburgh Area Chapter Blacks in Government will be holding a one day training conference at the Veterans Administration on Highland Drive on July 23rd. Attached is the training conference announcement and a registration form. If you would like to attend this conference for the nominal registration fee of $15 (which includes lunch). You must also complete the attached registration form indicating your selection of workshops. Space is limited. If you have any questions, please contact Otis Mills at 412-386-5828.

Below is the tentative 2003 schedule for the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter. The approach to the schedule is a result of the Membership Survey conducted in the last quarter of 2002. You will notice several differences in this year’s schedule. One of the primary differences is that almost every month some activity is associated with the membership meetings. Also you will notice that the location, time and place differs from month to month. Finally, each meeting requires a sponsor.

The schedule is designed to do several things.

Give increased opportunity for all members to attend meetings.

Provide a structure of activities that will benefit the members

Allow for all members to be active in chapter activities

Allow planning for essential membership activities.

In order for a successful year, your assistance and input is needed to complete the schedule. Please look over each of the activities and decide which you would like to either sponsor or participate in. Contact Vonzetta Davis-Lewis at (412) 386-4417, vcd5@cdc.gov, with your choice and she will update the schedule. Rebecca or Otis will contact you to flesh out the details. Don’t worry, if you have never done it, we will be happy to show you how.
